Nice to meet you! I am sorry that you are feeling lonely. I hope that you are able to make some friends soon who care for you unconditionally.
I wish you the best in your journey away from the watchtower.

@Hortensia, thanks! I hope you ain't all californicating down there as we are told ALL non/ex- JWs are wont to do?!
@Ohiocowboy, making new friends ain't much of the bother. Losing old friends who have grown to understand you, a lovely wonderful sweetheart who you must now refuse to see each other (despite still deeply in love) to avoid the risk of getting her too DFed, and strained relationships with parents and siblings, and relatives (couldn't attend my sister's wedding, which made my mum, sister and BIL very sad on the day), now those are the things that pinch the most!
@Dazed, LOL! But you must stand corrected, avoid stereotyping people. The Nigerian prince could actually be a guy from your neighbouring block or yet...well, maybe Nigeria! Many wonderful business opportunities for people with a few foriegn bucks to dabble with in Nigeria. So, you could also take the advantage, if you are bold and wise. Maxim for business in Naija: You can be greedy, you can be stupid but never be greedy and stupid! But thanks all the same for the comic relief.
@LouBelle, thanks for the offer, but might have to defer that and maybe refer to my cousin. He is in SA too, and from reports I get from his friends back home here, he's also checking out of the religion but he is keeping it hidden from his parents to avoid confrontation.
To all, I love writing (especially poetry) and I am a physiscist. So, any one interested in those areas could PM me, and I'd get in touch on a personal level.
Here's a little one tho':
//Hortensia says welcome and hi
And then continues with a sigh
It is rather unfortunate
That distance
And instance
Can't allow to "californicate"//
//Ohio speaks nice, and sorry
And also says, don't worry
Hope you make new friends
Those that stick right to the end.
As to your trip, don't trip
Don't cower back to the Watchtower//
//Dazed put on the granny look
And pulled out the checkbook
Then says welcome
So I keep mum?
No, I gave some advice
That not all Naija was vice//
//And Loubelle was way down south
And offered to take me out
But I deferred,
The offer and referred
Someone for coffee,
Free of fee//
Hope you liked it? See ya, and thanks all!

I like the poem! You are very creative!
I'm sorry that you can't be with your sweetheart. It must hurt you very much. I hate how the Watchtower tears people apart and causes us to be separated from our loved ones. I hope that your situation changes one day, and that you both can be together even though it may seem unlikely at this time. We never know what the future holds for us, and something magnificent could be headed your way very soon!
I have a question (Or several-lol). How are JW's treated where you are? Are they allowed freedom to go door to door? Is there a lot of fighting between the Muslims and Christians, or do they try to get along with each other as best as they can?
I've seen pictures of the more rural areas, and there are many beautiful areas in Nigeria. Do you ever get to travel through the country to explore the sights? What is your most favorite area?
It's neat that there are so many people from different areas of the World here, and it is always a pleasure to learn more about different countries and cultures. What do you like the best about where you are living? What do you like least? Sorry about all of the questions, and if you don't want to answer that's okay. but I, and I am sure others would love to hear more about you.
Again, it is nice to meet you!

Glad to answer your questions, Ohio.

*Well, there is freedom of religion in Nigeria, altho' during the civil war (1964-7), some of their publications were banned.
*They are allowed to go from door to door, yes. And most people out of courtesy and culture would give them some attention at first call, but generally regared as a pain in the neck by householders.
*Well, there is a fundamentalist Muslim sect called Boko Haram (menaing, Western education/influence is forbidden) that terrorizes both liberal Muslims and Christians. Yes, political crises in the North easily disintegrate into religious ones with much loss to lives and property.
*There are many beautiful sites in Nigeria. I have visited some, would have post pics but most were congregation things. We have waterfalls, springs that sprout cold and hot water simultaneously and many games reserves. My favourite town that I'd love to visit is Calabar: great weather, tasty cuisine and much fanfare, 'tis a tourist delight that town. Also, we have the Obudu Ranch, a high-class resort.
What do you like the best about where you are living? What do you like least?
People are friendly here, very friendly, especially the rural areas. What I don't like about my country is that people are too religious, and in my opinion become hypocrites which I feel is responsible for the high level of corruption here.
Hope I answered some of your questions, wanna visit my country? You would be welcomed!
