How can the body be both? How did/do you reconcile this paradox? Some related scriptures that comes to mind are:

(Job 14:4) . . .Who can produce someone clean out of someone unclean?

(Ephesians 5:8) . . . for YOU were once darkness, but YOU are now light in connection with [the] Lord. Go on walking as children of light...

How about neither, I prefer to think of it as an amusement park.

    ya, what big dog said.

however, back when i did believe this stuff, i did not try to reconcile it at all. i just would *not think*. and when i did start thinking about stuff like this is when i not only developed cognitive dissonance with regards JWs, but with regards xianity in general.

    cool though Else,

Simple. The bible is not made of whole cloth. It is a patchwork of theories and ideas, some of which are the antitheses of others.

It's a metaphor. It doesn't have to be either/or. Mind you i'm not defending the bible. I couldn't care less if it's right or wrong. But something can be twoi seemingly opposite things at the same time.

Much like a knife. Can be used to help or used to kill. It's what you do with it that makes the difference.

Thus the body is a temple of god when not abused. Also the temple of god since his/her (did I say her?) holy spirit shines within. It's a "vessel for satan's temptations" because all of our so-called evils express themselves through the body some way plus are received in to the mind and heart through the body from the external world.

I'm not saying I agree i'm just giving my interpretation.
