Submitted for your dining and dancing pleasure..... "Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are [a] few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
    - President Dwight D. Eisenhower,
November 8th, 1954 I guess if one waits long enough all things come around....the old is new, the strong become weak, etc. Would Gen Eisenhower vote for GWB? ~Hill

I'd seen this before in an email. I thought it was a joke at first because the quote was so "spot on."

Very funny but also true... http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/ike.asp

Perhaps Americans will wake up in 2006 and 2008, and vote these crooked Texans out of Washington.

What's worse? Screwing an intern, or screwing the country?

Since when is privitizing social security getting rid of it? I thought it was only to allow you to put the money you already paid into social security into growing investments, so when social security goes bankrupt, you won't have to eat dog food?

Nahh. I forgot, when somebody has an agenda, the facts are thrown out the window.

Hey, there must be some unemployed executives from Enron, Tyco and Level 3 available to administer the privatized social security program. I'm sure their investors have some great recipits for cat food.
