Did anyone else watch "The Plague" on the History Channel last night?

I realize it may have been dramatized for TV, but seeing it played out made a much bigger impression than reading about it.

Something emphasized quite a bit was the role of Christianity. Now I admit I don't have much use for Christianity at the moment, and seeing this really pissed me off. People were dropping dead from a totally explainable reason with today's knowledge, But at that time the Christians had such a control of people, and science was stifled, they thought God was punishing them for something. (Reminds me of the poster recently who started threads saying the same thing about Katrina).

The group known as the flagellants as portayed in the show really irritated me the most. All originating from a Christian viewpoint. I just couldn't help but connect it to the JW's today and their narrowminded view of the world.
