for Thanksgiving! Well actually they're coming around the time of Thanksgiving to visit and see the kids. My sister is coming also, which is great. Mother told me that they plan on staying a week, arriving either before or on turkey day. Will my parents partake of the Thanksgiving meal? You bet your sweet hiney they will! They have done so in the past. For 2 years straight they came over my house for Thanksgiving, I fed them well and they had a very nice time. This year will be no different.

Being a JW never stopped me from eating turkey on Thanksgiving, or Christmas, Easter, Ukrainian Christmas, Ukrainian Easter, New Years, Victoria Day, Labour Day, or Systems Administrators Appreciation day.

This is the time of year the Dubs tell themselves, "There's nothing unscriptural about enjoying a turkey dinner, or with enjoying a meal with our families! So, enjoying a turkey dinner with our families, isn't really celebrating Thanksgiving, just becuz it so happens we're off that day, and the turkey was on a really good sale so we picked one up!" They do the same thing worldly families do on that holiday, but of course, it's purely coincidental!

I'm hoping it will be a good visit. Mother is still in denial about her bad behavior in Dallas when my sister lost her baby. My sister forgave Mom but their relationship is more tenuous than my mother realizes. My sister was going to spend a few days at my parents' house around Thanksgiving but she asked me if I could presuade my parents into coming to visit me around Thanksgiving just so she wouldn't had to spend too much time alone with Mother. My sister is healing but there are still some tender spots, it's only been a few months since she lost the baby. It's a good time to use my kids to distract my mother away from my sister. I just hope everything goes well. Oh and they are staying a week which means they will be here when I go to church. I wonder if I should make arrangements for them to attend the local hall?
