Silly unexpected situations.

Two weeks ago I went on foot to the local supermarket in dry weather shortly before they closed to buy some meat and as I was leaving I realised it was raining hard. So I was trapped under cover just outside as they closed.

I was waiting for 30 minutes, one hour, for the rain to stop and it didn't so as I got fed up with standing there and I decided to walk five minutes in the rain to go home, even if I would get soaked and risk catching a cold. So I did, got soaking wet and the cold surely came after 24 hours and afflicted me for one week.

It was such a silly situation to suffer a cold just for a pound of pork.

Two questions? Did the pork get wet, and did it taste good when you were eating it?

Jordan, the pork was raw and due to be cooked by me and it didn't get wet anyway being in a plastic carrier bag. Even if it had got wet that would make no diffence.

At least you walked somewhere. I tend not to at all. There's one grocery store I could walk to but it's a little more than two miles away and I'm lazy.

Sorry you got a cold. I suppose next time you could bring an umbrella, just in case.

Using an umbrella would be a good idea if you know in advance that it will start raining. Also an awkward situation like the above could be resolved if you carry a mobile phone and can call someone to pick you up.

I always walk to the supermarket when I go for minor shopping to get some exercise, I and also Socrates my dog.

Did Socrates get a cold, or was he too busy eating the pork?

LT, 18 month old Socrates never seems to get any colds or illnesses he is a very healthy dog, he wants to eat, play and go out for walks all the time, he is like a little child.
