I remember studying, I think it was in peace and security book, that more ppl are alive now than have ever lived in the past.

This was an answer to anyone who had doubts about how the earth would not be over populated in the new system when everyone would be resurrected.

So without the present 6 billion ppl (who would have died at armageddon) then there would be plenty of room about 1 1/2 acres each, wow, for all the survivers, 6 million (peanuts) and everyone else.

So what the truth??????? does anyone know ?????

Didn't the Aid book speculate that there were 10 billion or 20 billion people that had ever lived? They had a nice little paragraph about how after setting aside farm land and parks and what not, there would still be a whopping 1/2 acre each.

This really bugged Gina, but some reason I was cool with it. I imagined that many people would live in high-rise apartments, thus their little half-acre's would be combined with others to make usable chunks of community-owned land.

Or we'd colonize Mars. Or something. In any event, it's the truth!

Filling the earth to the point of having 1 1/2 acres each! Can you imagine all the sewage? Deforestation? Where will they put all the animals? The earth would resemble one huge city - everyone would just have an above average sized lot for their home.

That's not what's pictured in their publications when they have pictures of paradise.

Well since we , I mean the R&F, cant speculate, the GB can do that to their hearts content, but im going off topic. LOL

We didnt really know, how it would work, I always felt it would be really spooky the day after, just no one around, but dead bodies. A bit like a zombie film

6 Billion dead bodies and only 6 million surviors. That means when the JW's survive the big A, they will each have to clean up 1,000 dead bodies. Now if the animals start helping and finish off half the dead bodies ( wouldnt that make for alot of overwieght sick animals) that would still leave 500 dead bodies per person. Not exactly my idea of paradise!

I had a thread on this very topic:

The main problem is that the Society underestimates the number of people who have ever lived because infant mortality was far worse before the advent of modern science than had previously been recognized. Thus, the latest estimates are that 60 billion people have been born since AD 1. If we add the estimated 11 billion born between 2000 BC and AD 1, that pushes the number to 71 billion, not counting people who had lived and died before then.

This is a far cry from a mere 24 billion people, as estimated by the Society. Here is my summary of what this means:

Our present-day population, which the Watchtower regards as too large and a "sign" of the terrible conditions of the present "system of things", is estimated to be a scant 8.7% of the total born since 2000 BC. In other words, eleven times more people would have to be living on the "paradise earth" than alive today. Is that your idea of paradise?

Oh, and another thing. Because of infant and child mortality, couples had a much higher average number of children. Can you imagine being raised from the dead to be reunited not only with your long-dead husband, but with 5 or 7 babies that will immediately need to be taken care of and raised into adulthood?
