Christian (and human) responsibility....or what?

Matt 5:34-40 is where Jesus gives the account of "doing good to others". In verse 41 he goes on to say that he will tell those who don't follow this admonition that he will then consider them as accursed. Those who ignore this (verses 42-44) will be under extreme judgement as he says, "To the extent that you did not do it to one of these least ones, YOU did not do it to me", which results in the everlasting cutting off.

The WTS does NOT instruct their followers to help the needy, by clothing or feeding anyone in the communities they live in. The individual JWs "may" (or may not) feel compelled to roll up their sleeves and volunteer to physically help those less fortunate; gathering and distruting clothing, helping out at a soup kitchen or a homeless shelter, etc, etc.

No, the mega-bucks publishing company/pseudo religion has no such means or ongoing organized effort to see to these needs. They "leave it to others" to care for their fellow man's needs and seem to feel quite proud of this! They "say" they are "spreading the good news" and that seems to be what they feel is what Jesus MUST have been talking about as the "Christian works" that he spoke of.

DEMONSTRATING this Christian love by the GIVING of one's own "personal" goods and resources has thus fallen into the hands of the religions that the WTS often and loudly claims are "not worshiping God correctly"....and that THEY are fulfilling THEIR "Christian obligation" by spending THEIR time and resources in attempting to make converts. (You will note that the time and resources come NOT from the WTS empire but from the individual JWs)

    Some things to think about......

Do YOU think that "placing books" whose erroneous teachings change from edition to edition, is more important than seeing that someone has enough to eat---or having suitable clothing?

WHO is actually DOING what Jesus SAID to do? ALL those so-called "false religions" that you JWs so abhor....or the WTS?

WHY would Jesus ask that his followers take care of the physical needs of those he spoke of----IF he "meant" otherwise?

Wouldn't you think that by physically demonstrating Jesus love for others by CARING for them in this way.....that you would ALSO be "gving a witness" for his teachings and the love he showed? Did Jesus make sure that he left a book or tract with people.....or did he provide food for their bodies while also showing his concern for them while speaking of his Father's love and qualities?

In many places the brutal winter months are almost upon us.....will YOU be bundling up in YOUR warm clothing with a full belly.....to knock on doors of hundreds of "not-at-homes".....hoping to find a "listening ear" to the WTS beliefs .....or will YOU be one of those that will be TRULY "doing good for others" in YOUR community?

    Sunspot,

You have hit upon one of the most common mentioned proofs of the Borg's self delusion. To see the suffering and pain in this world is to be overwhelmed and to become a very very small sand castle before the tide. Unfortunately, there are no slots on a publisher card for hours spent feeding a starving family, or drying the tears of a poverty child, or soothing the broken heart of a human being who has just lost a loved one to death. You have reached the basis by which this board and the apostates like me have sprung from: according to the Borg, as a human being, you are worthless in the eyes of Jehovah, and any suffering of any kind is of no consequence to Him, it, or this universe. If you don't like it, then leave, He'll just make more.

I agree. The true meaning of caring is obliterated by the WTS and pushed into a convenient pigeonhole of only preaching their unchristian message of "become a JW or you'll die" pitch. Occasionally IF the need arises, the JW will offer help to someone "studying", which is SO transparent and shallow (although the recipent won't realize this for a while).....and ALL the "Christian caring" stops cold if the recipient decides to stop the study.

I wish that JWs would just take a step back and see what a fraud the WTS is, and how they have buried Christ and left him there in the tomb for all the good their teachings do. They turn away FROM him, turn their backs ON him, and worship the "Mother" that the WTS has set up in his place.

As I said......the WTS leaves all the duties and responsibilities of putting shoulders to the grindstone and sharing what they have with those in need.........to the very religions they sneer at and refer to as "under Satan's rule"......and are quite arrogant while doing so.
