Awaiting Mother's call...

I'm gonna be patience, nice, and take the high road with my mother when she calls. Last night my mother called while I was at my night job at Target and spoke to my husband. When I started my night job a few weeks ago, my schedule didn't include Tuesday night, but schedules change at Target from week to week and now I am working Tuesdays. Mother assumes that I lied to her about when I work (yeah I know wtf?!!) and actually said that to my husband. Then Mother proceeds to inform my husband that she and my Dad will not be coming to visit in the next 2 weeks - apparently my father (who is 64) has been getting a lot more housecleaning jobs and just can't tear himself away to come and visit the kids. Oh well there will be more turkey and peach cobbler for me.

I'm sorry Josie. I miss you from yahoo chat too ya know. I'm blessed to have wonderful parents, even though they're JWs (well my dad is a quasi-JW), and I'm disfellowshipped, they love me and treat me especially well.

geez, I'm sorry. Funny how she automatically thinks you're lying, eh? I don't know if this is a JW trait or not. I do know I have a lot of experience with this...but who am I to judge...it's a hard habit to break...I still struggle with it.

Regardless, I hope everything turns out okay for you. In the least you have the right attitude...but I'm still sorry for you in that some people have to be so goddam stubborn, hurtful, and wrong.

Yep my parents are jws, though my father hardly ever goes to meetings and never goes out in field service and my mother because of bouts of temperment and depression goes through cycles of activity and inactivity.

Mother uses her conscience (what little she has) as it suits her. She plays lotto, we have gone on vacations around Christmas, stayed at a casino (MGM Grand in Reno), and gambled the night away playing the slots, I have seen Mother steal items from resturants, one year she had me take my handicap brother trick-or-treating, she accepts birthday and Christmas presents from her children and even expects to get them, I could go on.

My parents were coming to see my children and it just happened that it would be the week of Thanksgiving because they were also hopping my sister would be able to visit too. Also my parents have been to my house numerous times to partake in the Thanksgiving feast.

Attack of conscience? Nah, my mother is just being her old evil self (my nickname for her is EvilOne) and my father is following along as usual.
