Was it at a low point you met a Witness and became insnared?

Hernandez was at his lowest point when he met Cecilia Foxwell, an evangelist with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses . While handing out pamphlets to the homeless living at the Silver Beach Avenue approach, Cecilia took a liking to Hernandez and offered to pay him $3 a day to clean the yard outside her beachside apartment complex, Seaire, which was nearby.

    Can't speak for myself.

My hubby was smitten with the hottie next door. He sent her a love-note. She told him she couldn't date him, she was a JW. His parents thought, oh well, it will add structure to his life.

I think mama regretted her early apathy. He spent the rest of his years with her hiding her cigarettes...

My mom met the witnesses when she was pregnant with my older brother. She was 17 and living at home. She dropped out of high school too.

Yeah, I'd say that was pretty low.

Got invested with the witnesses during my early adolescent life. A very complicated time, one where it set the stage for all that I would come thru in my life. I was already a depressed teen, add to that the uncertainty of life without anyone to give any reasonably good direction, parents, teachers neighbors...the message from Jehovah's Witnesses was very appealing. I was a misfit, even before becoming involved with Jehovah's people, so I just knew I was gonna' be a shoe-in. Much to my surprise, however, I'd quickly come to find that I wasn't fitting in there either.

My life was forever changed upon becoming involved with those in the Kingdom Hall. It would be a 17 year, illusive, chasing down of the dream of finding forever. 3 years after succumbing to the desires of youth, sex, drugs and R&B, after learning about " The Truth ", I'd continued to lose my mind due to a drug induced nervous breakdown.

I was brought dragged up in the 'truth' and so knew nothing else until 20; however it was one f*kin huge low point between being 18 months old and 20.

My mother however was on the virge of a nervous breakdown and was suicidal when the knock on the door came...just when you thought things couldnt get any worse
