No luck on DC, but if you are ever in Portland I would love to show you where the GOOD beer is at! Big Willy
I don't live in DC, but I was just there a month ago visiting the sites and was pointed to a place about a block from the White House called The Old Ebbitts Grill. Great place, authentic antique interior for the most part, very cool atmosphere and good food/drinks. It seems to be one of those historically interesting places. It's on 15th Ave I believe. I would definatly recommend going there.
Come to Australia and we'll go on some mad winery tours...! hurrah!!!
And boy do Aussies know how to make wine!!! Beer? whassup with the fosters addiction? do y'all brew anything dark & chewy? Sorry Pac NW beer snobbery sneaking out :) Big Willy
Fosters.... bleagh!!! We label that junk Aussie and export it overseas. I do not know a single person who drinks that weak excuse for beer. In fact its not many places you can buy fosters over here.... Thank Goodness...
Tasmania produces some very nice beers from light to dark... Great on a hot Aussie day!
Tell me more about this dark Taz beer! I'm a big fan of anything dark & chewy and might be able to find someone here that imports it
Just made my own batch of Licorice Oatmeal Stout on Monday, shuold be yummy in a couple of months.

Some non dark beers but very nice are here: http://www.matildabay.com.au/ourbeers/index.html
We discussed Foster's marketing scheme in business school. It seems that it is the equivalent of Colt 45 there. But if you package the image right (think Crocodile Dundee, etc.), then you have a cool import.
