I was just thinking about how, in all the time I was a jw, I never once saw a typo in one of their publications. I used to think how wonderful it was that Jehovah made sure his publications were edited to the letter. After all, "God is in the details!"
And I was thinking about how these little "perfect" details unconsciously added to my rampant perfectionnism over the years. I felt as if any slight deviation, even in such a small thing as my writing and grammar, could reflect poorly on my creator.
Each day I become more aware of these little insidious ways that I was affected for the worse by my being connected with the wts. Of course now that I know the truth about "the truth" it all seems so crazy. I mean, they may not have made typos but man, they really failed on the journalistic integrity! Not to mention honesty!
What's that scripture? "Blind guides, who strain out the gnat but gulp down the camel!" (Matt. 23:24)

Actually, I remember finding a typo... once. I wish I'd kept that damn WT magazine too.

They brag about that no-typo's thing in one of their videos. It shows two sisters discussing the usage of some term and which version they should use. Probably another one of those "cult" versus "mind-control" debates... :-)
Found a typo in an Awake crossword once. And once there were two questions in the Watchtower that I and the conductor were 95% sure were switched. (i.e., paragraph 19's question actually went with paragraph 20, and vice-versa.) It's a testimony to the drummed-in obedience we all carried that the conductor read the questions as they were written, despite our view on it.
And yeah, maybe it's a bit anal to remember two typos in 20 years... :-)

There may not have been typos, but maaaaan. Their writing would not pass muster elsewhere. Check out the last article on "writing tight".

I also remember 2 typos... and 2 translation errors. Not big things, but I noticed them.
Too bad I wasn't more observant when it came to all the false prophecies...

I'm glad to see you're working on that.
I should start too.

Yeah I remember these two school marm-ish looking Sisters™ from one of the first video releases. I was LMAO back then, and still do when I think about them.
What a Privilege™ to proof-read Jehovah's Spiritual Banquet™ .... gag me!!

There have been typos. I guess the quality of employees has gone down at Bethel.
