A J'W friend of mine told me that JW's are studying the "Pay Attention to Daniel's Prophecies" book again. Isn't this the 4th time they have studied this book since it first came out in 1999? Why all of the fuss over this Daniel book? Do they feel that Daniel's prophecies are being fulfilled today? I remember when I was still a JW's and the "Revelation Grand Climax book"came out in 1988 the JW's were buzzing because they were pushing Armaggeddon around the corner slogan again but would not put a "new"date in writing like 1975. I am sure that a "new"date is in the makings. What book will they study next after Pay Attention to Daniel's Prophecies book? Will they again go back and restudy the Revelation Grand Climax at hand book? They would have to delete all of the old light to fit in with the "new light" with the discarded 1914 generation doctrine(pre 1995 nov watchtower). What do you posters feel on this point?

Why all of the fuss over this Daniel book?
It's still too new to have another publication containing New Light that outshines the Current Light. Also, the WT warehouse is overstocked with the Daniel book so it only makes sense to study it again. That way every JW can get another one to use pens and highliters on.
Do they feel that Daniel's prophecies are being fulfilled today?
They're still waiting on Jehovah on this. In the meantime what better way to spend the short time remaining before 99.9% of the world's population is exterminated like pesky little vermin.

Was there an older version of the Daniel book that was studied back in the 70's - 80's?
I think it was light green in color.

I think the next book to be studied is "Organized to do Jehovah's Will", published this past summer, starting sometime next spring/summer. It contains the 104 baptism questions at the back.

The WTS had little more current on Daniel than this until the Daniel Prophecy (1999?) came out.

The prophecy has to do with the ongoing enmity between the king of the north and the king of the south and was discussed in detail in the book "Your Will Be Done on Earth." In that book it was shown that the king of the north was originally Syria, to the north of Israel. Afterward, the role was taken over by Rome. To begin with, the king of the south was Egypt. -

I think I read on here that the GB are reconsidering Daniel for some 'new light'. If that's the case, they want to clear out the inventory in preparation of publishing a new book. Now we know the REAL reason for studying this.

I remember when the Daniel book came out and I remember studying it. Man those were long bookstudies and they were at my house. 90% of it is just mumbo jumbo and you really don't get anything out of it.

No no, the Organized book will never be studied at book studies, as it is for baptized or those about to be so, and therefore it will be dealt with at the Service meetings. The new "truth" book published this summer is the one to be used, starting April.

Emptying the inventory, and they really have no real study, I mean the material is so deep (with b.s.) that you can't have anything extra added to it like, thinking, free an open discussions of the material, answers other than those approved by the Elders and the FDS. Book Study my ass. More like a Fable study.
