Me too! Its funny, just Tuesday I was with my husband in a city 30 miles away. We were parked in our van about to get out and shop when an older Volvo drove up and parked. Three adults, an older married couple, accompanied by a younger middle age spinster. All wore longer skirts, practical shoes, the man wore a suit and tie. But all had that thrift shop crumpled look. They were heading into a coffee shop. I checked my watch it was 10am. I figured they were pioneers taking their coffee break. Lets see how long they take?
I said to my husband, "Look, those three are witnesses."
I no sooner spoke those words when the younger woman quickly whipped out a small handbill and offered it to another woman walking by to her car.
"Uh oh" acknowledged hubby.
As I sat in the van waiting for hubby to return I watched them enter the coffee shop. I made a note of the time and counted the minutes of their break. We'll see what kind of pioneers they are!!!!
I would forgive 10-15 minutes and allow them to keep their time going after all she did place the handbill.
I also rehearsed a lie if they should approach my car on their way back to their car.
Ten, eleven, twelve minutes....and they emerge with their coffee.
I check my hair and rehearse my lines.
But they went right to their car and got in....under 15 minutes at the coffee shop. Ok, thats fine to me.
Every employer ought to give you at least a 15 minute break and they may have started early at 7 am.
They looked like the dedicated type.
Yeah, I can spot them!
