Issues before realising

    Hi,

Before even realising there was an issue with the 607 BCE chronology and finding my way to this site and others, I had secret issues in the back of my mind which I would never discuss with anyone based on my "standing" in the congregation. For example:

    1. REV 20:5 "And the rest of the dead did not come to life after the thousand years were ended" - I don't get the chronology of this verse. It says to me that the rank and file are not ressurrected until after the thousand year reign???

    2. Birthdays - why such a fuss? Big deal if once a year I take some time out to focus on my beautiful children - one of Jehovah's wonderful creations. Is it really a sin to celebrate the coming together of man and woman and to thank the giver of life? There are more pagan traits found in modern wedding celebrations yet these are acceptable.

    3. FDS - Chosen in 1918 by Christ while celebrating Christmas, birthdays, smoking, using the cross as a symbol, promoting false doctrines and allowing pyramidology within it's teachings. Faithful slave?

    4. Blood fractions - this is now up to the individual. Mmm - what fractions of fornication can I decide on? Could I smoke a fraction of a cigarette?

    Ho Hum...

    Hi Telecomslee,

Welcome to the board. Good points. We found that once we started questioning, it all unravelled.

    Hi, Lee...

I used to call those secret issues, "Flashpoints." They'd pop up every now and then. Some people dwelled on them; I didn't. I thought about 'em, figured it would all make sense later, rationalized, then let 'em slip away for awhile. It used to bug me that others had such a hard time with this. Not me.

Until the subject of confession came up while I was serving as an elder. The research I did on this subject shocked me--and brought back all those other flashpoints.

Congratulations. Your brain has been waiting for you.

    Kindest Regards
