It's pretty creepy. I'm right on Canal st. & St. Charles, next to French Quarter. You can see the high water mark everywhere. Bicycles that were chained to lamp posts at the Dome before the hurricane are still there, but all rusted. Only maybe 10% of the businesses are open. You can see the masive damage done by looters. We're staying at the Courtyard Marriott.

Good news! My S10 Blazer was flooded in the storm. I got it started today and she looks to be in good shape! Come on home girl!

Oh yeah... and I'm waiting on the "Big News"....

    Bryan,

Thanks for the update. New Orleans is a special place and a lot of us who never called it home have been saddened by the disaster. I can't imagine what you guys who actually live there are going through. I can't wait for N'awlins to recover from this tragedy.

I wish you guys the best and please let us know if you need anything.

If you had water inside the cab, you will need to remove the carpet and take out the padding underneath because it will rot and make your car stink. A bit of work, but worth it!!

You're right about that bebu. The carpet is coming out. The water was only high enough to put about 4 inches in the floor. It rusted up the starter though and took a while to get her goin'.

Don'y missunderstand, we are not moving back. My wife's company needed a meeting and a Christmas Dinner.

Take care everyone and thanks for the well wishes.

I've heard of companies offering sign on bonuses for people wishing to work in NOLA. It's tempting sometimes to look into it. I lived in Morgan City from 1965-1970 and did most of my grammar school there. South Louisiana has had a magical influence on my life. I have thought about how eery it must be in NOLA right now.

What do you personally think of taking jobs with companies who offer incentives to work in NOLA? I have heard that housing is so scarce that it will end up being expensive.
