Why Not An '80%' Revolution?

Much thanks to Maximus for revealing what many of us
have long suspected - that 80% or so of Witness kids
    leave the "truth".

This is a VERY VALUABLE POINT! We shouldn't underestimate
its value. If every Witness parent knew this was true,
can you imagine the chaos that would ensue?

I recently talked with some Witness parents who are
emotionally shattered that ALL their kids want nothing
to do with the organization. The sister said (without
my prompting) the VERY SENTENCE THAT MUST SEND CHILLS
UP THE LIVER-SPOTTED BACKS OF THE GOVERNING BODY:

"Why should I go out in service anymore when we can't
even raise kids in the 'truth' these days?"

Exactly! REPEAT this sad statistic over and over and
over. If every Witness knew this, we all might be amazed
how fast the walls of the Watchtower would crumble.

    Hello Metatron,

Before the champagne corks set sail into the sunset, remember that 50 - 60% ( dependant on location ) leave permanently, 20-30% return as some stage.

Still seems fairly high. Never thought it was that bad as I was sort of an anomaly in my area.

I think the statistics are accurate. I doubt however, that most Witnesses will agree. It would be difficult to deny that the situation is very bad.

I wonder what the statistics are for marriages ending in divorce these days among the Witness population? It seems that the young ones aren't the only ones leaving.

And with the old timers passing away or just not able to do what they once did, the organization is in a crisis at every generation.

    Fair enough

Yet, even these statistics don't tell you what I see
in one congregation after another - even though these
kids come back, it's often only a technicality.

In addition to that, I am amazed at the state of marriage
in congregations I know. Not just divorce, but obvious
bad marriages - couples who attend and never sit together!

Unfortunately I agree somewhat with hills' point. The WTB&TS has built a billion Dollar Corporation on those 20 - 30% returnees.

As long as the WTB&TS doesn't burn through their investment returns too quickly, the Corp could probably carry on quite nicely even after getting rid of a lot of the 'dead wood' Jehovah's Witnesses who aren't big consumers of WTB&TS distribution literature.
