I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers during my difficult time. My grandmother passed away on December 26. Her death was especially heartbreaking for me because she was not a JW and I always felt that she was the only one who loved me unconditionally (unlike my JW relatives).

This is truly a very wonderful and caring community, so unlike the dubs.

How fortunate you had her as an influence in your life.

I was fortunate to have had her. She taught me how Christians were supposed to be - non-judgemental, generous and caring.

Back in the forties, she took in a friend who had a child out-of-wedlock, a major taboo in those days. She loved to grow flowers and vegetables. My grandparents had a huge garden and would often give food away to those who were less fortunate, regardless of whether they went to church or not.
