I was talking to my mother last night and towards the end of our conversation she said "Oh I'm tired so after I get off the phone with you I'm going to get in bed and study my watchtower. Then I said "I know what you mean but I have to get the kids in bed. They want to go to church tomorrow but they dont want to go to bed and it's hard for them get up for church if they dont have enough sleep."

Everytime mother says something about the hall or the jws I make sure to say something about my church.

I know she's not happy about it (my going to church), maybe she thinks that if she keeps talking about the jws that I will see the errors of my ways.

How they got them to think that they are the best and everyone else is inferior, they have big inflexible egos and their heads are in the clouds.

    Josie,

It's funny that you mention that...It was 18 years before I stepped into a religious building. I found one that does not bash other religions but, rather encourages to find your own path. I can't tell you how many times at the hall about this religion and that religion is no good and that they are all wrong. I go in Khaki shorts and a collared shirt...no tie required...and if I miss a Sunday....nobody is beating down the door.

My experience with the "Christendom" churches is that I have always felt free to express any questions I have. There was one I attended that offered an evening Bible study class titled "Your personal search for God." I felt so comfortable there because I knew then that there are places that encourage people in their spiritual journey. No one gets labeled bad association just because they have questions or because they think differently from say, the priest.

It was a great feeling attending there mainly because here was a group of people that wanted new ones to feel welcome without discriminating on the basis of "creed" or anything else.

    mrsjones5,

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in this. I do the same thing with my parents. They are both very active in the hall. They feel the need to remind me of all the requirements they have to meet.

They just had the CO visit and were very busy, too busy to call that week. I told her it was ok I was busy taking down my Chrstmas tree and decorations.

hehehehe...it gets sorta fun to play with her!

This is totally off topic but that is the same strategy I use with my husband when he talks about football (which I think is one of the dumbest sports ever invented). I talk about tampons each time he tells me about football.
