Well that makes two of us!
he he... i didn't think anyone would respond to this thread.
well, i could try to explain it. but, it's the reason i used pictures in the first place. it's just a sort of visual evolution of a concept that is rough around the edges, socially, and in my mind. it's rough, and brash, and unpolished because it is those things in my mind. also because i prefer things like that.
it's not just about humans being apes. it's about finding a sort of melancholic solace, and goddliness, in the poetry of evolution. when you look in the mirror, do you see an ape, yourself *and* a god? and that's one of the most ironic twists in our modern culture; that the strong denial of evolution as a defacto de jure, is one of the strongest (and albeit abstract) arguments in its very defense.
and poets are the ones we sacrifice up on the alter of normalcy for talking about it, not scientists. poets don't just talk about it, they live it. it's a triality for them, not a duality. ape, human and god.
just an ode to four-legged poets, i suppose.
