Did this ever happen to you?

Out in Field Service you would meet an extremely 'interested person' and make arrangements for a Return Visit. When the appointed time arrived and you went back to make your RV the 'interested person' would thank you for visiting again and then tell you that they had started attending the church down the street. Then everyone in the car group would groan when you returned to the vehicle and related what happened. Then someone would say, "Satan made your RV for you. Now they may never accept 'the Truth' because you know how strong Babylon the Great is."

I always struggled with events like this because it raised doubts in my mind such as:

Is Satan that much more powerful than God that he can suppress the Truth?

If the Holy Spirit is really guiding JW's then how could this happen?

Why are the churches in our territory growing so fast and our congregation's attendance has either stayed the same or declined? I thought Jehovah was going to speed things up for the Truth.

That happened to me once too often. When I met an older man whose wife had suffered a stroke he was emotionally at the point where he was open for anything. All I did was place a book and, I just listened to him, and at that time I thought that was what he needed from me, he did'nt know me from adam but he was pouring his heart out to me. I arranged to go back in the next two days. But then he ended up attending another church as well. I was'nt mad at him for that, but that puzzeled me, when I asked my pops about it he just said," Well son, it's a seperation from the weeds from the wheat".

    (wtf?)

Yeah, that happened a few times. I just always thought, Damn that Satan is quick. I just didn't really care. Guess that should have been a sign.
