My nephew by previous marriage told me an interesting experience this past weekend. While he had never been baptized, his sister had been years ago but was trying to fade. She moved from Iowa to Kansas but she made the mistake of giving her street address to her mother, still a JW.
Within weeks of her move there was a knock on her door and she could see through the security glass that it was probably a pair of JW's. She didn't answer.
After several of these incidents over a several-week span there was another knock. Same thing, a pair of JW's, she was certain. Again, she didn't answer but at that moment her phone rang. It was her mother, "Why aren't you answering the door, Mary (not her name)? The brothers are there to help you."
Yes, she answered her door under duress and is, again, attending the meetings to try to keep them off her back.
Sounds like Gestapo techniques to me.
Unsuccessful fade aided by Gestapo?

Eh, that made me laugh. Maybe I have a warped sense of humor though. I would love that to happen to me, just for the story alone. Though I would decline going to meetings "Sorry I just moved and am trying to still set stuff up here" then I would just never go. Excuses are great like that.

Oh the poor girl!
My mother did somethng similar, only she was the one that moved. We had lived in the same city, but different congs. Before she moved, she made sure to contact the elders in my hall and make sure they came by to "encourage" me to attend meetings. I cringe everytime the doorbell rings!

Yes that is an intrusive kind of action by a brainwashed mother that's over eager to "help", the lesson here is: avoid giving a new address to any JW parents, just leave.

Sounds like the mother is a control freak........and sounds like this girl has a hard time standing up to her mother---or Witnesses in general. If she doesn't want to go to the Hall, she should start inventing illnesses. Last time I checked, America was still a free country and she does not have to go to "church" if she doesn't want to. And they can't disfellowship you simply for not attending.

Claim chronic sickness or depression and fade away. It works.
