There are so many topics on this now I didn't know who to add it to.
I emailed the editor last night.

    Her reply:

I'm planning on using the AP no-blood policy story within the next week.

Sorry to hear about your uncle. Regarding the book, our newspaper is owned by CNHI out of Birmingham, AL. My review of your book was picked up on the CNHI News Service and I have been told it was in papers as far north as Iowa as well as around Texas and Oklahoma!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Good job. I'm going to write my local paper right now.

Wait, what? What is everyone talking about? Fill me in. What blood story is there? If it involves anything that would have me writing to my paper to request them do a story about exposing a JW issue, I'm all for it. I'm sorry I'm out of the loop here, can anyone fill me in please?

Thanks Bryan... do you think that I should write to my local paper? Do you think they'll carry it, or do ANYTHING on it, or is it too late? I know the news is a fast-paced world... but that editor you wrote to said s/he was going to use it within a week, right? Do I still have time to write to my paper?

kristyann: before you do anything, read the excellent advice in the first few pages of this thread:

Your local paper may already subscribe to the Associated Press in which case they have this story on their "wire." You could encourage them to run it by telling them there are X number of congregations of JWs in their reading area with about X number of JWs (figure out how many congos there are and muliply by 100 publishers each), many of whom would probably read this story, clip it and share it with others. That might be a stretch, but newspaper editors try to run stories they think their readers will read.
