I'm looking for reviews or recommendations from those who have seen Underworld Evolution or Aeon Flux. The online reviews I've read have been quite mixed for these.
Underworld Evolution? Aeon Flux? Anyone seen these yet?

Haven't seen either, but I know that Aeon Flux got a pretty severe critical pounding, a mere 14% on the tomato-meter on Rottentomatoes.com (the tomatometer is based on the number of positive reviews a movied receives).
"In the dystopian future, apparently, women will be bendable Barbies in leather scanties, and everyone will speak like brain-dead robots."
-- Jami Bernard, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
"Spectacularly silly."
-- Justin Chang, VARIETY"A hokey, post-apocalyptic jumble of clunky storytelling, tin-ear dialogue, and ineptly staged action sequences."
-- Timothy Knight, REEL.COM -

Aeon flux wasn't bad. It was more about the special effects than the story which was kind of transparent, most of it was pretty predictable but there were some unusual features to it. It was worth seeing as far as I'm concerned.
Loved the original Underworld and am eagerly awaiting Evolution. :)
Hubby hates all this "weird shit" so I usually have to rope a friend into going and seeing these kinds of films with me.

I used to watch Aeon Flux on MTV back in the 90's. Haven't seen the movie yet. But the previews looked cool.

I recently went to see Underworld Evolution with my two grown sons. Not a choice I would have made for a movie that day but in view of the fact we were in a small desert town and not much else to see umm the choices were Hoodwinked, Nanny McPhee, Brokenback Mountain or Last Holiday (my choice). Well remembering the last time I went to a movie with these same two boys and saw American Pie 2.....laughed my arse off but it was rather awkward being with my grown boys, lol.Okay I'm not much for blood and gore nor for mythology and had up to seeing this film ever heard of the Underworld series, who knew? What I did know was I was in for a yucky experience and wasn't dissappointed.......... it was gory and yucky! Did I mention I hate gory movies? Did I mention that Kate Beckinsale as sexy-as-hell, black-leather-clad Selene and Scott Speedman (swoon) as human-turned-werewolf-turned-vampire-turned-hybrid Michael were more than easy on the eyes? Okay so they were the best part of the whole movie when they weren't turned into their werewolf vampire counterparts, yuck!
As movies go it was predictable, good vs. evil or maybe it was eviler vs. evilest? LOL Blood, guts, monsters and lots of good cinematography which allows to you to dive into a universe quite unlike our own thank doG! LOL
I wouldn't rent the move nor would I recommend it to anyone else unless of course you are into that kind of movie then by all means spend your money, no wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it.
I guess the biggest turn off for me during the entire movie was a young kid, very young kid who was making comments all throughout it like "yeah take that you dummy!" and "yes, blood!, more blood!" and "hahaha.....kill him again!" but my all time favorite comment, (er NOT) was during the sex scene when this youngin said "look at those lips, lick her again, no bite her!" and then at every bloodleting sceen he would laugh and cheer, okay........enough! The audience was getting way more kick out of this kid's comments than the movie itself.
What really did it for me was when I saw this kid and his parental units leaving the theater. He must have been all of 4 or 5 years old and they well umm the word crack whores comes to mind, really sad. The little boy with the two scary parents left me with the greatest angst, who in their right mind would take a kid to a movie like that, I had bad dreams that night, and not about the movie but about neglected children.

I thought Underworld Evolutions was better than the first. I still didn't like it. I don't like any vampire movie where the socalled creatures of the night need flashlights to see in the dark. Maybe I'm just picky but I Bram Stoker's Dracula, and the vampires seemed more supernatural than the Blade and Underworld types.
I'm just sick of seeing vampires doing karate.
Be that as it may, I did enjoy the blood and gore, which was missing from the first. Great action, just could've been better,

Undeworld evol. is worth seeing only if you've seen the director's cut of the film. But if oyu did'nt, it's a wild ride, I liked it.
Aeon flux however....wait for the video. The animation was much more better. But give the film a try when it comes to dvd.

I saw Aeon. I thought it was going to be cool because I liked the cartoon, but the film was awful. It was probably one of the worst movies I saw in 2005.

I saw underworld evolution on opening night... I really liked it... but then again I liked the first one too.
If you haven't seen the first one, rent it first.. .the story really picks up where the first one left off.
