Saying Jehovah's name

When I first started studying 10 years ago with JW's I felt uncomfortable using Jehovah's name. I can't explain why but I avoided using it. After awhile it became a beautiful name to me. Now, Its still beautiful but at times its not. I associate God's name with the org and at times it tastes bitter to say it. I'm finding myself using the title of God more now.
Do any of you have a hard time seperating God's name from your feeling with the org?

    Jurs,

Yes I have the same problem. I do not use Jehovah, I use Father, God, I use Lord a lot and sometimes Yahweh. I just do not like any association with the WT.

I agree with you totally. I never say Jehovah anymore. To me, he is the God of the Watchtower, and is not my god. I only say God or my God, or the Supreme Being, etc. I am sure he knows who we mean.

Absotively-Posilutely!!! (if you've never seen Oliver&Co. then disregard my silly little remark)

I am totally in the same boat. I stopped using the name Jehovah altogether. Now it's just God. I keep associating the name 'Jehovah' with JW's. Whether it's His name or not, I can't bring myself to use it at this moment.

Same thing here. I keep saying "Father" instead of Jehovah. My five year old son still asks me things like "Why did Hovah make this, or that, etc." and I think it's cute, but I try not to use it as much around him anymore, just doesn't seem right to use it as much now. I'm trying to draw closer to Jesus and part of that makes me really confused. Should I be talking to Jesus, Jehovah, God, who?

Jurs, hi enjoy some of you posts, however in this instgance, you refer to the name of Jehovah, which is not God's name, unless of course the hebrew language does have a "j" in it. To my reckoning
Yahweh or Yehovah my be it. One thing for sure the society seems to think his name is the Organization don't you think???Buff

    I'm with ya,Jurs.
I usually just say,God now.At first it was just uncomfortable to say but then it became as hard to say"Jehovah as it is for me to refer to this religion as the "Truth".There was a Watchtower or Awake article not to long ago where they themselves admit that they don't really know the proper pronounciation of Gods' name. That was pretty crazy for me to read after all those years of forcing that name on to others!

Ditto all of the above. Too close to the borg for comfort.

    Hello Jurs,

I used to use the name Jehovah a lot but now find it has an appropriate place and time for me. Being in the borg has, at least, taught me to seperate Jah and Jesus in my thinking when warrented. It's useful for my 2 meeting a month limit. :)
