Does anyone know how to find someone's birth records? Is that information publicly available? If it is, how do you find out? My one friend is dating a guy that she thinks is older than her... she thinks he's lying but wants to find out in a way other than searching through his wallet. I think that she should just ask him, but she says she's already tried that.... and then I have another friend that is trying to find out info about his biological parents. He knows their names, and even the hospitals they were born at... but he doesn't know their ages or some other info he would like. I am wondering, is this stuff publicly available? I told him I'd ask on here for him... this place seems to be a wealth of knowledge, oftentimes random knowledge. Does anyone know how to get this info? I have the feeling going to a library or something would be helpful. He has already tried using websites like intelius or those other "people finder" websites and those haven't been too helpful. They're not very reliable, and they didn't really come up with anything too useful. So does anyone know if there is a way to view official birth records, or is this info that's not publicly available?

Many county and states have offices that for a fee provide birth records. Without knowing your state it is hard to advise.

My boss subscribes to ancestry.com. I asked her to find someone's birthday and as long as the person was born in California, she could find it. She registered in California. I am not sure of the cost, but you could possibly get the info for your state as long as you register with ancestry.com for that state.
