    I also remember he played the JW father of a boy who needed a blood transfusion on Dr. Kildare way back in the 60's. Kildare gave the kid blood over the objection of the family and he lived.

    I will never forget his role as Chester the deputy on 'Gunsmoke' he walked with a limp.

    How come these actors don't live longer, Don Knotts(Barney Fif) just died too, you would think with all their money they would live into their nineties.

    Yeah...........I remember that one. Showing my age!

    He really did some great TV. Gunsmoke and before that with Eve Arden in a show I can't remember the name of.

    I really liked the TV movie Duel when he was chased by the crazed tank trucker. I didn't realize he was that old.

    edited to add: The TV show with Eve Arden was "Our Miss Brooks." I heard through the J dub urban legend source many years ago that Eve Arden also studied with the JW's but never persued it.

    How fast time passes. Dennis Weaver was a great actor, one of my favorites.

    I remember Duel. One of the those movies that you remember seeing as a child; and directed by a very young Steven Spielberg.
