I feel very happy and proud of this kid. Many autistic kids have a very hard time socially relating to other kids, and most have a very hard time learning social rules. Low self esteem is very common, especially in those who endure teasing and abuse by others for not acting "normal". I am so pleased that he has now experienced something so positive, a moment of being a "hero" for the team, and if he doesn't already have the respect of the neurotypical kids, I hope he has it now!
