Is anybody familiar with the variation in the Daniel book on page 275 (i think), taking about how true worshipers would be refined. I remember that at the convention some brothers commented that some books read one way and other books read another way. Some people talked about it briefly last night at the book study. Just curious.

Well i will tell you what my book says Drew

OOPS i read it wrong, it was page 275 Jehovah’s people were to experience stumbling and refining "until the time of the end." Of course, they expect to be persecuted until the end of this wicked system of things. However, the cleansing and whitening of God’s people as a result of the intrusion from the king of the north was "for the time appointed." Hence, at Daniel 11:35, "the time of the end" must relate to the end of the period of time needed for God’s people to be refined while enduring the assault of the king of the north. The stumbling evidently ended at the time appointed by Jehovah.

I just got out my old book to see what it says and of course it differs to the new one. What is the significance of the change on page 275 other than showing they are sly (i know in the past they've changed stuff cos they got something completely and obviously wrong)

    Weird, isn't it?

A book is not a book apparently to the WTS - it's a sleight of hand job instead.

I can recall that oftentimes at book studies there was confusion as to what was right, or 'latest truth' because people in the group would have different versions of the same book.
