The JWs don't differ that much

The WTS claims that it is different from the world however we know that in essence they do not differ enough to be truly different.

What points can we use to justify the position that they are in essence the same as the rest of the world, that they are also Babylon and part of the beast? To begin with I would say they are very materialistic and lack true love and spirituality, and they also destroyed many families.

One thing that stands out in my mind is their drinking habits, not every witness obviously but a lot of them, the stories I have heared off them, like one elder telling me that a few nights earlier he had been drinking round at his friends house when he got so drunk that they put him to bed and took photos of him in the nude.

They've hidden just as much, if not more, child molestation cases as the Catholics, and most Jdubs I know think the Catholics are the worst

I believe that they are "of the world" in the truest spiritual sense - with values that (or worse than) the world has - 'the world' operates on ideals of 'deserving' - who deserves what, dictated mainly by those of greater power - and on the ideal of "show me the money" and the ideal of "take care of the ninety-nine".

For me their 'way' is the opitome of "of the world".

Actually they are very different from the rest of the world. What other group believes that the book of revelations is all about them?

Yes they do have a really grandiose idea about themselves to declare that so much of Revelation was written about them and that they filled one third of the 144 000 positions in just 16 years (1919-1935). Can you imagine old John in Patmos had visions about them 1900 years before they appeared.... as an adventist offshhoot.

What I see as intolerable is their totalitarian nature, those arrogant old men want to decide everything and the R&F whose lives are affected by don't have any say in these decisions. Many bright JWs are being ruled by persons far inferior to them.

The Pope may decree things but he doesn't impose them on his followers, they don't have to live by them.
