Over the past week, I've seen a couple of references to brothers assigned as bodyguards to various Watchtower officials. It got me thinking...

Is this job assigned on the basis of the scripture that tells how Jesus said, 'Boys, draw yer swords!" in gethsemane?

Are puny 300 lb. pro-wrestler human guards necessary because the angels normally assigned to protect god's Fake inDiscreet Slaves are on vacation somewhere?

Does the job description of the guard state that when necessary they will step into the line of fire and repeatedly turn the other cheek until the danger is past?

Just how are these guys selected for the job? Do they place a LOT more magazines than mere mortals? can they Bench-Press 800 lbs? Has the Holy Spirit revealed to them the inner secrets of Jeet Kune Do?
..or are they just really mean MFers on a short leash?

Yes, I've got my tongue in my cheek, but these are serous questions.

the official 'greeter' that is assigned at meeting is also a bouncer. He is not just greeting, he is keeping undesirables out.

In theory they are, but what if someone came in and hit them with a straight blast tiger's paw strike to the adam's apple? Do you think they could handle that?

I think that if REAL "tribulation style" trouble showed up, they'd wet their pants and hid under the piano.

of course, that's only my opinion. I could be wrong.
