I have successfully used PayPal for several years, selling and buying things on Ebay. All of a sudden, paypal became a menace and decided o freeze my funds. I investigated, since I could not get a response from Ebay OR PayPal to my satisfaction. Suffice it to say that I closed that checking account, paypal account and Ebay account after what I read here.

Yep. The very reason I won't use either myself. Although, if I decided to make a business out of it, I think I would open a seperate checking account for use just for Ebay/PayPal to protect my normal funds.
I've used Paypal and Ebay with pretty good luck but two things really scare me. One, not being able to speak with a real person and two, that Paypal doesn't do more to warn people of scams. I almost fell for the "Paypal" email asking for you to re-submit your information. It looked legit with the Paypal logo. When I went to the Paypal web site, nothing was posted to let people know about this scam.
Scary stuff.
I tried to make a payment on PayPal a couple of weeks back and it wouldn't accept my card details so in the end I gave up trying.
Country Girl, did you fail to ship an auction item to a winner?
I once purchased something off eBay but the guy blatantly refused to ship the item. It was one delay excuse after another. I realized that he was trying to delay until the time limit for me to complain to eBay had passed. Once I realized that I contacted PayPal and eBay and they locked all of his related accounts until he finally sent me a refund. Once he followed through with his commitments they unlocked his accounts.
Nothing like having someone by the balls!

I've not had any problems with PayPal. Here in the UK they were forced to register as a bank just like a high street bank and has to follow the banking code and various other bits of legislation.
