Do you find that you are using the powrful internet technology to improve your social dimension to contact other people to get to know them and exchange information eg by using instant messengers with audio visual contact (webcams)or just with the plain old e-mails?
Such information technology and the internet connection itself are getting cheaper and better all the time, and instant messengers with a microphone can be used as a telephone free of any charges.
Do you communicate a lot through the internet?

If only mobile phone technology was nearly as inexpensive. I envision a wireless world, and it seems like the mobile phone companies are trying to stretch out the birth pains as long as they can for profit's sake. I mean, I can't really blame them, but it still pisses me off.

I don't know about mobile telephony but the way things are going calls between fixed phones anywhere in the world will free of charge before long.
I already really enjoy talking to friends for hours through the internet without paying a penny (or cent). -

Yes, I rarely use my phone these days, just chat to my friends on msn or send text messages via a free sms internet site.

Other than the time I spend on this board I've cut my internet communication down to almost nothing. No more messengers, no more webcam, etc. It was taking up too much time, and more important things were being neglected.

Moderation in all things is something fine, it's nice to contact ppl from all over the world but it's not good to allow this virtual on line socialising to take over face to face socialising.
