LOVED THIS STORY!!!
It made me think though.
I am at work and was looking around at my co-workers and suddenly realized that I have to witness more to them or it will be their bodies I find dead.
A good reminder for us all!
O.K......you've done it again...got me crying... this was really sweet.
Warm(and hopeful)Christian love
Thank you for this story. I feel so encouraged! less sad and blue...
What a bunch of crap. I am so glad I am out of that mess. The story said something about the Kingdumb Hell having windows. Since when? The Kingdumb Hells around here don't have windows.

Oh, I love these stories. How encouraging.
I was already wondering that not one mention is made of _any_ feeling remotely comparable to sadness about the mass-extinction of billions of humans (obviously including even small children). Any sort of emotion like empathy.
But, silly me!, the story does tell us that a few survivors were "somewhat disappointed that some of their loved ones hadn't made it".
Brother, where are your wife and children? - Oh, I guess they didn't make it. I'm somewhat disappointed. Such a nice day, isn't it?

Ah yes, "Day One", the old classic. I remember that when this story was spread to non-JW forums, a number of believers said it had to be written by apostates to discredit JWs. As if that was ever necessary.

"Churches totally looted, some burnt out, some of the priests seemed to have died trying to stop the mobs, in seems no one has bothered to bury all the decomposing bodies.."
Well, who would have the goodness to actually DO a final dignified kindness like that?
"We spotted a group of people walking in the distance, they were people we did not know. They looked like witnesses to us and they were looking at us the same way ... Once we found out we were all witnesses, we all hugged, ... They told us that everyone they met so far this day were witnesses too."
So that would leave YOU and your fellow Witnesses as the burial detail?
(And how does one 'look like' a Witness when not in suit, tie, or long flowery dress toting a book bag?)

No kidding!
Yeah, yeah -- don't bury the DEAD! Just hurry up to the Kingdom Hall to clean up the graffiti!!!

Yeah, as the only witness in my family I would've been "slightly disappointed" that my husband and children didn't make it... but what the heck? Those two doubting brothers made it, so who am I to cry or mourn?
And excuse me while I throw up my breakfast reading about how the prophet Isaiah studied the "Isaiah" books, marking up his copies like a good JayDub!
Disturbing. Disgusting. Dependably banal.
