I just bought the first complete translation with introductory commentary by His Holiness THE DALAI LAMA. Has anyone read any of this book in it original parts.

Hidden away for many centuries. This ancient treasure text reveals the secrets of enlightened living and life after death. This statement in on the front cover of the jacket.

If you have any experience with Buddhism or are a Buddhist please share it with me.

Recommended reading and its only 127 pages : Buddhism Without Beliefs by Stephen Batchelor. I would also recommend some research into the writings of J. Krishnamurti, D.T. Suzuki, and Alan Watts.

I read it years ago. Not sure which version. It was interesting. I read the Koran about the same time.
I asked my dad what he thought of the Koran. He said it's all lies. I asked him which version he read and he said he never read it, he didn't have to.

LOL Gary. Funny he wouldn't say that about the publications eh? Somehow he must have known the witnesses had the truth without reading any of their literature, eh?

This book helped me. Much of it doesn't resonate with me and much of it does.

LOL @ Gary Buss's dad. Bless him.

Blue Blades a good book to read is Physics of the Soul by Amit Goswami. The Tibetan Book of the Dead is discussed a lot in this book by a physicist who is an advocate of monistic idealism, the philosophy that defines consciousness, not materiality as the primary reality.
