All the remnant 144,000

I have always wondered from the time of being a child and being familiar with a few of the professed 144,000 remnant; just why is there no enlightenment coming from them? The only enlightenment or new light is coming from the few in Brooklyn, New York. Why only those few? Does not make sense to me. Does it to you?

I know, "it's a cult", but how does the active Jw rationalize this?

I have been out for a long time, but this has always made me wonder...

Of course it doesn't make any sense. They make it up as they go.

I knew 3 annointed older ones and the one was an older married woman with 2 kids I asked

her why she and the rest of the annointed weren't up at bethel helping direct the org.,

The answer ; they had things under control there and she was needed here and other obligations

blah blah blah...

Right now I know one annointed bro who is in his 30s. Jehovah must have needed a replacement for

an annointed defector, armaggedon could be a long way off.

It also used to be that some of the elderly "annointed" were "given" shares of stock in the Society as sort of a ceremonial honor. They were given strict instructions to will them back to the society and not to give them to anyone else.

They were also given a snotty little letter once a year before the society business meeting to be sure and send in their proxy to Brooklyn - God forbid that they might actually vote their shares for themselves!

Because if you are one of the 144,000, you aren't allowed to even think that you may recieve light. So even if God gave you some new . If you dared to acknowledge it, you would have to conceed it was demonism. Because they are taught, that if it doesn't come from the GB, it's demonism.

And another point...the GB has never had any new , just more unneccesary rules or digging themselves out of a previous mistake or a prophesy that turned out to be wrong..

I hope i am not straying of the beaten path here, but if you read Revelation 5:9,10 in the NWT , it says that there are those bought from every nation ( chosen ones ) who would rule as Kings and Priests "OVER" the earth. Now check the societies Greek interlinear and every other bible you can get your hands on !!! What does it say????
The Greek interlinear says "UPON", other versions of the bible say "ON" the earth.
confused? , I bet you are now!!. I have to say , for some strange reason , it would make sense that Jesus ( Yahshua ) or ( yahushua ) would choose holy ones ( chosen ones ) ( saints ) to help him in the new world under Kingdom rule. Particularly when you consider that these ones were faithful in this "age" where Satan the devil has caused so much havoc making it so difficult to recognise and adhere to the true faith.
I have to say, i don't know if this is the way that this particular scripture should be interpreted, but it is food for thought and helps me to better understand the role that these holy ones would undertake in Gods kingdom.

moomanchu - I vaguely remember being told something like they were needed to help keep the congs strong.

lost_light - hahaha. When I was really little I totally thought oil would be poured on their heads at the memorial. When I said something to my folks, of course, in front of others too they just laughed. But didn't they do that in the bible???

james - the stock shares is new info to me! How business like of them...

mathead & star moore - yes, there was always that suspicion that new partakers were only being caught up in their enthusiasm or more likely possesed of a demon or something.

evergreen - well, if I was trying to make sense of the bible and revelation, your take on it does make some sense.

It's all in the brown nosing and certainly a woman would never be considered for a high ranking possition in the cult anyway . You want a penthouse apartment you do have to work your way through the ranks . I don't think they are totally honest with anybody on how the anointment works anyway .
