The Bible seems to show that Jehovah chooses bad leaders

I was watching this History channel production, and it was talking about Israel and their kings. It mentioned how Saul was a bad King, how David was a king who let lust and greed take him over. Plus, we know Moses made a big enough mistake to not be allowed into the Promise land and then we also see Jesus bad taste in followers with the Judas incident. So what I was wondering, has anyone else ever noticed that for a God that seems so in tune to the hearts of his people, that Jehovah seems to have a track history of choosing the wrong people to lead his followers? Maybe that is why we should not be surprised that the elders, the governing body and all the servants are such complete failures as leaders. After all, they are suppose to be appointed by God and this "Jehovah God" seems to like to choose the wrong man, more often then not.

If I invest in a company, I always look to see who is in control and what kind of decisions the leadership is making. If I looked at this Bible from a business stand-point, I would see a need for new management, with better leadership choices.

IMHO - The whole theme of the Bible is man's inability to please God.

God seems to be a character that likes to set people up for failure, he makes man imperfect, sets 'perfect' standards and then punishes man when he is unable to comply.More than that, even 'perfect' creatures like angles, the first humans and perfect humans in paradise.

Take a look at this for example:

Rev 20:7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Here we see that after (They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.) and shows that once again, in the new paradise world their will be 'nations' and they will be mislead by Satan and turn agaist God yet again. We can only assume this will go on forever, mankind, angles, whatever life God has created will always fall short of God's expectations of them and be destroyed in the name of divine justace.

I see the myth of the Bible as pitting the God and Devil against each other in a game of chess. They are both equal and it is just a matter of who has the best agent, on who looks like the best player at the time. Personally, I think the Bible chooses to show the weakness in leaders to explain why something is happening in modern society today. No different the the Roman and Greek myth approach of saying that all evil entered the world when Pandora opened her box. Although there is some evidence that a King David might have existed, there is no hard evidence that anything written in the Bible about him, actually took place. Humanity, is prone to make legends and modern history is no different then the ancient ones we see written in religious and historical text.

What do I see is that Bible is one unique book which shows that God is with those who are not brightest of this world. Bible shows, that God is with "minority". So I wander why Bible is not very popular today as today "minority" is everything. Each "minority" declares their own rights and requires majority to provide them. So I guess bible would be very good reason today for minorities, but they just don't see the oportunity and stays minority without God. But minority with God would rule the world!

I certainly understand why you came to that conclusion! :)
