Yeah, you heard me correctly. I used to attend a congregation that housed the Circuit Overseer, he had an apartment on the bottom floor of the Kingdom Hall. Everything was provided for him, apartment, utilities, health insurance, meals, and get this - CABLE TV!!!

This was around 1999, before my mom and I did the fade. Anyway, here the congregations are told about not watching worldly entertainment, and my family didn't have cable TV at all....and here during a meeting we found out the CO was asking for a "raise" or something so that he could get a better cable package! My mom's jaw dropped......we didn't have cable TV at all (as the WT recommends)....and here this hypocritical bastard had MTV, VH1, AMC, ESPN, FX, everything! - and we had nothing!

Just another example of the "do as we say, not as we do" doctrine.

funny how it is appropriate to ask for that but its not appropriate to ask for monetary assistance for members that are facing hardships.

About four to six years ago, we had a CO and wife who owned horses and boarded them where ever they went. Now, that is my dream, to have A (one) horse, but I tried not to let that get to me. Thought that they were dedicating their life to Jehovah and all. Well, I decided to give them a contribution to help continue their service to Jehovah. You know what she told me, "Thank you. I will use this to get my horse something." Needless to say, that was the last time I ever gave a contribution to assist the CO's.

Bunch of frauds is what I say.
