If Jehovah does not demand human sacrifice, then why does he DEMAND that JWs die instead of taking blood transfusions? Isn't that human sacrifice?

I was in particular, thinking about the 'infamous' 1980's Awake, with pictures of so many JW children who had died for want of blood. Isn't Jehovah a God that DEMANDS human sacrifice, then!!!! Isn't that what martyrdom is??

It has to do with intruducing a foregn or malicious thing into the body. Not human sacrifice. I had asked the same question and a Catholic no doubt, told me it was the right idea. Thats why you dont eat blood. Hope this helped.

So cuetec06, if a person has an organ transplant, would that be introducing something foreign into the body?

Axelspeed - Call me 'impressed with your answer'! Excellent!
It seems then, that Jehovah, according to his Faithful and Indiscreet Slave on the Earth, is still demanding human sacrifices of 'his people' by demanding that they die, to keep to the interpreted command of the FDS to 'abstain from blood transfusions'.

Thanks! Actually, it really has much more to do with a policy that makes no sense to begin with than any supposed brilliance on my part.

"Listen and understand. What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean' " (Matthew 15:10-11).

i think its clear what the scripture about not taking blood means. i just realise that the people back then did not have the same medical advancements we have today.

If people 'back then' had the same medical advancement as we have today, they may well have had the same mental advancement as we have today.
Perhaps then, they would have begun to realise that, as we do now, religion and tradition and superstition, is what drags the human race backwards into the dark ages.
Think of some of the dread ful laws that the Jews had to abide with, and some of the dreadful laws that the Islamic communities have to abide with.
Human law nowadays, even though not always satisfactory, is advancing forwards in humanity all of the time and are far more 'moral' than any religious laws.
So, they may well have accepted blood transfusions as people do today. Afterall, does God REALLY demand human sacrifices. If you are saying NO to blood transfusions, then that's what a person is accusing their God of demanding!
