In some congregations, yes, in some, no, and they hoped by reading the accounts report and stressing the word "deficit" that the donations would go up. Many times when the electricity is being near to being shut off, the elder body passes the hat and pays it.

I was accounts servant for around 10 years...
While in a rural "need is great" congo in Iowa...we NEVER paid our bill...even bounced a few checks....ugggh!
In SoCal...those fat f*ckers would just take in enough to pay the bills barely...while playing $200 rounds of golf and $400 dinners and world cruises and driving 7 series B mers...
Hypocrites...while I scraped by "pioneering" and getting condescending pats on the back like a kicked pup.

My cong has been borderline for a few years now. They allways seem to make it, but sometimes funds get pretty low. They also have a nice chunk with the society. Wonder what they do with all the money...i wonder...

i was assistant to the acct. serv back east where i grew up. i knew how much we were collecting on a regular basis, funny though,we were always out of money by months end. i pondered this and pondered this,i wondered why they would do the last report w/o me...and then it hit me. I JUST DONT THINK THEY CARE THE WOLE SYSTEM IS CORRUPT AND A RIPOFF TO THE "FLOCK"! i did see one time while we were doing an audit an bank account that was not on our list ,i asked about it and well.I'm stupid. they closed that account the month before i started. i was so brainwashed,i actually did believe them at the time.
