"Mommy - I'm scared!"

I was walking downtown this morning and came upon a JW dad with his two little girls. They were waiting at a light to cross and a woman with her little girl (the two little girls were around the same age, maybe 6 years old) was walking past them. The little JW girl turns around and whips out the mags. The non JW little girl grabs her moms hand and says "Mommy - I'm scared!". Mom asks what she's afraid of - "those people".

I thought it was just too funny!! Run little girl - run away as fast as you can!!

Oh my! I wonder what those two little JW girls thought about that? Nothing like having to be a little salesperson for Jehobo and have other little children run from you in fear and loathing.

I don't think the dad and the other little girl saw what happened. He was facing the other direction, and had one child on each side of him.

When the little JW girl saw these two walking behind her she just turned around really fast with the mags in her hand. The woman and her daughter just kept walking. I'm not even sure the mom saw what the little JW girl had in her hand, it happened so fast.

This reminds me: aren't there Child Labour Laws in this country? Doesn't peddling magazines qualify as labour? Isn't forcing children to peddle magazines -- without pay, mind you -- exploitative?

Couldn't a Prima Facia case be made that this is not "religious witnessing" but simply peddling because (a) the 6 y.o. girl is incapable of formulating a cogent "witness" and (b) her actions are entirely consistent with simple magazine peddling?

Child labour department, are you listening?

I almost start crying when I see little JW-children out in field service with their parents.

yeh its sad, thing is these kids without any clue as to what is right and wrong (so long as mum and dad are ok with it) then grow believing it and only cos they were raised in it. Maybe why those ones fall away...why am i witness...

Several times I've been presented™ with the magazines™ by a young JW and during the presentation had my heart ache over the poor darling. Resisting the urge to make their day by accepting™ the mags and giving the a dollar is hard and I don't even know if it's right.

Seeing this kind of behaviour brings back so many conflicting memories and makes you want to hold your kids close.

Funny how Witless kids are NEVER allowed to question or doubt the religion they are dragged up in.

Yet everybody else has to question doubt challenge and reject every iota of thier faith if they were not raised JW

That's why Elders like to get 'em dunked young hamsterbait - a baptised JW is less bothersome and easier to handle.

Maybe this is what they were thinking about when they wrote the May 15/06 article

    page 31

The "empty thing" they keep "muttering," or meditating on, is the continuation of their own sovereignty. Nothing shakes them more than any threat to their rulership. .

The worldwide preaching of the established Kingdom of God done by Jehovah's Witnesses has become just such a threat to the nations. After all, the Messianic Kingdom of God in the hands of Jesus Christ is going to "crush and put an end to all [man-made] kingdoms." (Daniel 2:44) The message of judgment included in our preaching work is sending out a tremor among the nations. (Isaiah 61 :2) And the shaking gets more severe as the preaching work increases in

    scope and intensity.

Quotes - don't you know we are not peddlers 2 Cor 2:17!

I can remember going in service and having doors slammed in our faces, angry words yelled etc. I was always told we were doing Jehovah's work. I guess when this is what you are taught to do as a young child it is something you consider "normal".
