Runnin' the Mikes

I can remember every young male in the congregation
"reaching out" to run the mikes - and read at the
    bookstudy/Watchtower.

Well, no more! It seems to be the emerging norm for
elders or guys over 30/40 to run the mikes - and talking
to my 'loyal' relative, reading is just a chore.

As for sound systems, I have to laugh at MS's and
other wannebes trying to play CDs on cue or open
mike inputs for comments. Some congregations never seem
to get anyone with any sense of how to run an audio
    board...
Meanwhile, 17 and 18 year old young men, who have
served as competent "DJ's" at parties, just sit in
the audience, bored out of their skulls. They probably
don't put in enough time to have any privileges, even
    if they cared.

Wake Up, Watchtower Poo Bahs! The next generation
is goin' to college, and enjoyin' that good old
    'double life'!

Ran sound for a year man, im 18 now. All the guys in my hall that ran Mic's and Sound were under 20. They never had a problem, till me and most of the other guys doin stuff moved to another hall. OH WELL! :)

Hey Slayer's Brother. did "they" ever want you mic handlers to observe over shoulders to see who had underlined their watchtowers and who had not? I've heard of that, never was asked myself tho.

In my old congregation (in Upstate NY) there was a contraversary
on whether to underline (or not) the WT in pen. It seemed if you were using permanent pen it was like defacing a "holy document."

Were you guys really checking out our WT's? (Ha! Ha!)

I was on the "Sound Team"... sounds great doesnt it?
I turned the song off after 2 verses once on purpose to make everyone wait for the 3rd to start.
God, now my disfellowshipping makes sense!

HEY I GOT A GREAT IDEA!

HAS ANYONE GOT A TRANSMITTER THAT WORKS ON THE SAME FREQUENCY AS THOSE ROVING CORDLESS MICS?

I think the society makes a huge mistake training young brothers to operate the sound equipment at the Kingdom Hall. This is possibly the first step leading to being a roady for a heavy metal band. This could lead to unbelievable fornication and drug use and alcoholsm.

This is very dangerous. But, there are worse ways to spend ones youth.
