This is a quote from May 1st 2006 Watchtower, as it appears in the Watchtower

''Christ's loyal 'other sheep' keenly await their King's approving declaration:.

'Come, you who have been blessed by my Father, inherit the (earthly Paradise realm of the ) kingdom prepared for you from the founding of the world.' ''

Is that REALLY what Christ said and wouldn't other Christians consider this a nonsense to quote a scripture and in the scriture include your own interpretation of what it means, so that that it APPEARS that is what the scripture says?

You know what is really scary? Ask a jw to read from any bible other than the NWT and they will automatically insert jw dogma and not even realize it! You ask them to read it again and they will ask what the problem is? Tell them they did not read the words correctly and they dismiss it as a minor thing even though the additions completely change the entire meaning of the scripture.

Quite fitting that you should use the word "slanting." They even admit to this themselves as to their own understanding of the Holy Scriptures!

Carla - Until JWs actually use other Bibles they cannot see that, no matter what they insist, the NWT does not say the same. Unfortunately, they will not use other Bibles and insist that only their is the correct interpretation! How arrogant is that?

Atlantis - That is a really interesting quote. The thing is, they haven't learnt at all from that. The Watchtower quote was BLATANT slanting. I suppose it all comes down to being unwilling, or afraid to use critical thinking, for the R and F JW, to actually see what happens to their Bibles.

They have twisted numerous verses to fit their policies eg the light that increases gradually and refers to the lifestyle of the righteous and not the doctrines of an organisation.

Likewise their is nothing in the Bible about an earthly paradise and indeed the other sheep are the gentile Christians.

Sure they will use other bibles. The few times I have had to with one (r &f or elder or MS) I just tell them I absolutely refuse to use the NWT unless they provide me with who the translators are. Then they said, 'ok, it doesn't matter to us what bible we use'. They were right, it doesn't matter because they still see the words of the NWT in places where the NWT was changed.
