Have anyone noticed that some controversial topics like 1914, non celebration of Holidays, etc are contained in the Appendix section of this new study Book rather than in the main section. Can we conclude that topics in the Appendix are not supported in the Bible but are JW doctrines. I suspect that there must be a reason for this action by the WTS.

The book is an oversized carrot.

I found no mention in there of the Faithful & Discreet slave, they try and reword the anointed ones as meaning they could be part of any Christian denomination.

The book is worded in such a way, that it seems all you have to do to be approved by God is simply take in accurate knowledge and apply it. No reference is made to the five weekly meetings or 10 hours a month field service. No references to higher education.

It's simply an artificial sweetner to hook bible studies into the cult.

You are correct about the intent of the bible teach book, that is the one that my wife is supposedly studying with a sister. I have looked through it and it is written at a very low reading level and it definitely does not really get at any of the real controversial topics til the appendix. I think it really is just something to try to draw one to the kingdumb hall for a love bombing session, and then hopefully to get one to the point of wanting to be baptized.

The content is weak at best and really just to me seems a rehash of stuff available elsewhere, but the message is buyer beware, because it definitely does not mention disfellowshipping, amongst other painful doctrines.

Oh man, it really got some rave reviews by the speakers at the last convention I was at. The way it sounded, it's the best thing in print since...Revelation.

The best way to indoctrinate a person into a high control group or cult is not by letting them see doctrines that the average person can refute. It is so much better to let them convince themselves that everything and everyone around them is wrong and they have been privileged to receive special insight and information that 99.9% of the people around them will reject and criticise.

Once they bite the bait that they have been singled out by God to receive special information and accurate knowledge, getting them to swallow the lies and half-truths is easy because they sincerely believe that they are one of a select few.

Trem, I came away with exactly the same impression; all the hardest-to-swallow JWisms are relegated to the appendix, which reminds one of the ``fine print" in a contract. Maybe the they're hoping that any newby ``Bible" student will have been sufficiently indoctrinated by the time they reach the back of the book.

Much of the book amounts to nothing more than a dumbed-down version of the basic JW dogma apparenetly aimed at the semi-literate.
