Legolas, got me to thinking on this. Genesis: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them...

By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return."

Ok, he created man in his own image and man was made from dirt? Remember the poem "Footprints in the Sand" (or whatever). It talks about Jesus carrying you? Well, he would be carrying us if we are walking on him. Right?

Is God "Mother Earth"? Wow, that was deep wasn't it!?

If that is the case, then the Genesis Theory and The Theory of Evolution have something in common.

I can see how cults get started!

If I were a sculptor I could form a piece of art "in my image" but could use one of many materials to do that. If I used clay it could still be in my image but would not mean that I was made of clay, if I used marble it could still be in my image but would not mean that I was made of marble....

    but hey...what do I know.

God is Energy, and dirt can be turned to energy, so yes God is dirt.

Ecclesiastes 12:7, here it says, Then shall the DUST RETURN TO THE EARTH as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.". So using my hypothesis , God would be dirt, and his active force would be spirit. Rwagoner, yes, it would be in your image, but you wouldn't have created the materials. Like I was saying about the scientist, they cannot make a baby in a test tube from dirt. They have to get an egg from the woman, and sperm from the man... Rwagoner when you create a living soul from the dirt, you'd be a God! Let me know, when you do this, because I have got to ask you a few questions about some prayers that you haven't answered!

I have two small dogs and they go in the yard and eat dirt. Are the trying to become human, or maybe Gods?

LMAO.....That thought is as good as any others I guess!

I believe it was the movie 'Stigmata' that is kinda based on the 'Thomas' gospel...where it was always saying something like...Spilt the wood and I am there...Turn a rock and I am there...etc

    So it could be!

In my framework of reference God is [and trancends] the intelligent energy of which the universe is comprised. Hence your original supposition would be correct, by that paradigm.

At least one evolutionary scientist came pretty close to saying that.
