Nebuchadnezzar's dream of a great tree .
They knew the length of the seven times .
They knew the year when Israel 's last king reigned .
They knew Daniel's interpretation and
application of the dream.
Great question!
And why did Jesus supposedly give the key to understanding 2,520 years ("appointed times of the nations") when he later said even he did not know the time for the end?

In dubland the day or the hour referres to the start of the GT. 1914 to the start of the last days, the end of the gentile times.
Now of course you and I know this is new light because there was a time when 1914 was thought to be the start of the GT. In fact didnt the dubs believe they were in the GT up until like the 50s or something? This would have been a great question to ask Russell. Its significance would be lost on a modern dub.
