    The situation in the UK is desire, particularly within the NHS - up to 13,000 jobs may go while consultants are paid 700,000 pounds to close hospitals.

    The Labour party is in ruins, Blair, Prescott and Clarke have lost confidence.

    Council tax has doubled since its introduction in 1993, yet services have been cut or eliminated. Homeowners are at risk of higher council tax if the government goes ahead and rebands them, because of higher house prices. First time buyers are at record lows, and house prices are 6 times the average income.

    Rail fares go up 8% year on year, more than your paycheck.

    Immigration is putting strain on services. More pensioners (senior citizens) are in poverty and fuel poverty. Gas prices are approaching 1 pound a litre, about $6-7 a gallon.

    It's time for the Queen to use her Royal Perogative Powers and sack Blair and his cronies.

    For anyone who doesn't know what the Queen's Royal Prerogative Powers are, see below:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Royal_Perogative

    Among the powers theoretically possessed by the monarch in the United Kingdom under the Royal Prerogative are:

    • The appointment and dismissal of ministers;
    • The dissolution of parliament and the calling of elections;
    • Clemency and pardon;
    • The award of dignities and honours;
    • The declaration of war;
    • The declaration of an emergency;
    • The grant of Charters of Incorporation;
    • The collection of tolls;
    • The minting of coinage;
    • The issue and revocation of passports;
    • The expulsion of a foreign national from the United Kingdom;
    • The creation of new common law courts;
    • The creation of new universities;
    • The appointment of bishops and archbishops in the Church of England;
    • The printing of the authorised Church of England version of the Bible;
    • The publication of all statutes, legislative instruments and Orders-in-Council;
    • The exercise of jurisdiction over numerous Royal foundations of all kinds;
    • The appointment of Royal Commissions and Officers for any purposes.

    Another questions:

    If the average property in the UK is 195,000 pounds, how the heck do people pay for it?

    I mean, the average wage in Britain is 23,000 pounds...

    Let's say that a couple earns 40,000 per year, the best they could get would be 140,000 mortgage.

    I want to know how these people are buying 2 bedroom houses that cost six figure numbers.

    Among the powers theoretically possessed by the monarch in the United Kingdom under the Royal Prerogative are:

    It would seem that throughout the development of the UK legal system the monarchy has suffered a massive derogation of power; some would argue they have no powers left.

    She doesnt even read legislation before its given royal assent and whats more she has never refused to give royal assent since a long time back despite some absolutely crazy legislation being passed.

    I blame the Queen for being a passive bystander

    I don't know how mortgages work in the UK, but here in the USA there are a few different options to help people get into that small 2 bedroom, 1 bath home in the not so great part of town. In some parts of California, a little 2-1 home can cost $600k or more. If you're doing well and make 50-60k a year, how can you afford such a price?? Easy. Most people are signing up for interest only loans. Other non-traditional fixed rate loans may call for 40 or even a 50 year mortgage. People buying with these types of loans are praying to Jah, Allah, whoever, that their home value increases exponentially over the next couple of years. If it doesn't, they might experience negative amortization on their home(you owe more than what your house is worth). If places like California get hit again like it did in the 80's, thousands and thousands of people are going to be in a world of hurt.
