List of your qualifications . - I believe Jehovah is the one true God . - I'm thought of as a spiritual person . - I have tried to live a good life . - I have been baptized . - I go to all the meetings . - I'm regular in field service . - I haven't done anything really bad . - I have friends who will vouch for me . If you were to list any of those qualifications on an application for paradise , it would indicate that you don't understand the worthlessness of religion . The only application that would be accepted by Jehovah would be one on which you listed your qualifications as follows . - I can cite no merit of my own . - I have been a sinner from birth . - I am coming not in my name but in Christ's . - I believe Jesus is the son of God and my savior . - I have accepted His sacrifice for my sins . - I believe He rose from the dead . - I have put my trust in Jesus Christ to save me . Thought this was interesting.

That's a list you won't see in a WT. Thanks mumanchu ( I still smile every time I see your avatar)!

That's looking at the WTS from an interesting angle, their mindset is completely wrong because it relies excessively on works for salvation as if the JWs are still living under the Mosaic law.
The result is that they have to live through a great deal of stress each day in case they do something wrong and ger thrown out from the all saving organisation. -

It is interesting moomanchu, thanks. I like the 4th one on the first list "I go to all the meetings". I wouldn't like to even try to guess how many times I was told the importance of meeting attendance, yet simply attending a meeting is meaningless. It's what you do away from meetings that really counts.

For all those who really want to be Christians, your list is the correct path. I find it amazing looking back how "works" blind many who are part of the JW membership. They think they will be saved by following some particular schedule as presented by a religious organization. A great illustration i've heard is this:
A man who lives with his mother falls in love with a woman he meets. She is a harlot and a substance abuser. She hates the boys mother. The mother tries to tell her son that he is not doing good by being with this woman. The boys girlfriend tells the boy "i've had enough of your mother, get rid of her so the two of us can be togeather unbothered". The boy, totally controlled by his new love murders his mother. To prove to his girlfriend he has gotton rid of his mother he cuts out her heart. Running with the heart in his hand to deliever the news he trips and falls. As he is laying on the floor he hears a voice from the heart "Are you ok my son?"
The deplorable condidtion the boy puts himself is equal to the position of all who are in sin. None are deserving of Gods love, but it is there. No work we can do will make us "approved". Instead we must rely upon the grace of God and the promise through his only son.
