    Sister vs. Sister
Venus Williams blew Jennifer Capriati away 6-4, 6-2 Friday to join her sister Serena in the finals, becoming the first sisters to play in a Grand Slam singles final < http://espn.go.com/tennis/usopen01/s/2001/0906/1248849.html>; in the past 117 years. Earlier, Serena pounded Martina Hingis </tennis/usopen01/s/2001/0907/1249212.html> 6-3, 6-2.

My two favorite slammin' sisters in the US Open final! Whatever the result I'm lovin' it!

You're loving it, Seven? Me, too! I wonder though... has Serena grown to see her sister as just another opponent, or will she allow her family relationship to override her will to win as she has in the past.

We'll see. It should be fun to watch!

Teejay, I don't know, Serena looked very focused in her obliteration of Hingus but Venus is ON FIRE!! OH MY!! LOL Did you see the ball kid checking the ball to see if it would still bounce after one of her patented baseline missle launches? I believe Serena wants this one badly. We'll have to wait and see. Warm up that VCR. 8:00pm(EST) tomorrow at Arthur Ashe Stadium. My only regret is that Arthur didn't live long enough to share this moment with them. He would be sooo proud. I know he'll be there in spirit.

If you haven't already, read Days of Grace, by Arthur Ashe. In some editions he's pictured with a young Venus. What a role model! He was the ultimate athlete, husband and father. A stellar human being. Trust me, you'll like this book.

I just hope for another picture of them wrapped in the American Flag.

My impresssion, formed only from the media of course, is that these two "Jehovah's Witnesses" are egotisitical, judgemental and always see any defeats as being the product of either racism or some outside factor, never their own fault. Like Michael Jackson I love to see their characteristics and their religion listed closely together. I wish them many more interviews and while I hope they and their father don't continue to act boorish. I do hope that they get plenty of recognition when they do. I think they enjoy it and I think it is good for the cult members to see such behavior and to watch the Tower have to decide what to do about such celebrity members. I can only wonder how Prince is adjusting. I hope he changes his name again and gets out.

I heard a sound bite of Serena today, saying something like, 'It's $850,000 dollars I'm playing for...I want to win!'

    Seven,

Just for the record, I'm pulling for Serena. She is too fine, and it's time for the younger to beat the older. I remember the first time I won a fistfight with my older brother who picked on me my whole life. It was the last fight we ever had! ah... um... er.... where'd THAT come from?!!!

Anyway, thanks for the info about Arthur's book. I share your opinion of his athleticism and manhood in general. He remains a role model for the ages, a true Man in every way.

I'll be in front of the tube this p.m., for sure.

Go, Serena, Go! And you too, Mr. Williams. Can't wait to see YOUR antics!

    peace, 7
