I am new hear and I have tried to catch up with all that everyone is talking about. But one had still confussed me.
Jehovahs Witnesses and the United Nations? What was that? I missed that one. Everyone keeps talking about it. So it must be a good one.

This site is fairly comprehensive.
Just a note, the WTS did not "join" the UN but did become a non-governmental organization in association with the UN which required the support the goals of the UN.
